Best apple fritters around! Crazy flavors that actually work! Got to give them credit for being creative and delicious! Highly recommend!

Hey whats the #1 quickest way to run ALL your customers away? Answer...OVERCHARGING. Whats the #2 way to make sure #1 is supported to the fullest? Answer... serve stale/old products and overcharge for them. If you enjoy getting the "ole #1 and #2 treatment" then this is the place for you....The place is nice and clean, thus 2 stars, and the counter help, although co-conspirators in #1 and #2, are friendly, however I'm not trawling the donut shop looking for friends...I'm looking for fresh baked goods at a cool price. I think they put the fresh donuts in the front of the display and the old ones at the back to fake you out. You see fresh and get served day old......and you pay 13 bucks for a dozen...................yikes. Dont get me wrong, I would pay 20 bucks for a dozen of donuts done right..........this was a 5 dollar dozen........take some good advice, dont start your today eating yesterday's dry crumbly mess.

It a small and nice place to hang out in Elk Grove. A great place for mom's meet-up with other mom's for coffee and donuts. Also, they have wide selection of donuts.

I am a HUGE fan of Java Time Donuts on Laguna. Best damn donuts ever and anywhere! I try to be one at this location as well but am being forced to use #1. The issue I have is the variety is always lacking. I come in a 8-9:30 am and the counter is not full a poor variety and usually messy as it was today. Donuts flipped up and chocolate touching the glass, Dirty pans with crumbs and a poor selection of donuts. Today the donuts looked like an apprentice made them. Very inconsistent different rises and cake donuts were flat and blown up and over cooked a crunchy! At this point I think Java Time #1 is where I will continue to shop. Its been 13 year and I know they will will be consistently great!

I'm teetering on giving them 4 stars and almost did because how could I not love a giant, fluffy donut cake?! But I had a couple of issues... 1. They spelled 'birthday' wrong on the cake. Good thing it was only my BF's birthday cake, so it was okay... I think... 2. Seemed a little unorganized. Whoever I talked to on the phone wasn't quite sure on the size and price. They didn't take down my number and I got nervous that my order was placed at all until the day of pick-up! I would definitely order another donut cake; it's fun and surprisingly fluffy! Bonus: they threw in some donut holes too!

  • Jade L.

Fast, friendly service. Great donut options and somewhat unique choices. The donut holes are a buck and some change for a dozen, but they have cool flavors, as well as plain. Cons....no cronuts! I'm pretty sure this isn't a "thing" but I ordered 4 maple bacon bars off my coworkers, realized later they were sans bacon. What the corn?!!!! Pros...yummy & fresh. Easy access with lots of parking. Right off the freeway (I-5). Variety of donut hole flavors for bite-sized cravings. You can special order a huuuuge donut (like pizza sized) for that donut lover's bday! AIso, hear it's a family business which I'm always happy to support

Wanted a donut on a Saturday morning and I needed to get on I-5. Java Time Donuts are located near the entrance to the I-5 freeway on Elk Grove. As I walked in it looked like the two young workers didn't want to be there. Cheer up workers.... I know you don't want to be there on a Saturday early in the morning because I wouldn't. I ordered the maple bar and I thought it was just ok. The donut is a little mushy in middle making the donut soft but the maple topping was good. They have all kinds of donuts including some with bacon, cereal, or other creative toppings. They also have creative shapes like a heart or a star. There were lots of people in line on a Saturday morning.

  • Reya R.

If you are up early - 5-5:30am on a Sunday and you need to get a dozen donuts do NOT expect to have a lot to choose from. You will only have the basic pedestrian donuts and NOTHING fancy - no cream, no bacon. Sure they are fresh but only 1/2 the case was full. Also the girl wasn't too sure on how to make change, she seemed overwhelmed.

  • Sarem B.

SO GOOD!!!! I Literally crave this everyday! I love all of their cake donuts yum! I started coming here again because I was tired of going out of my way for donuts and this one is so close to my house and I just am always satisfied.

  • Vince L.

The donuts were ok. The place is clean. The service was without any fanfare. I come here when I'm short on time. If I have a few extra minutes, I usually go to the one on Laguna Blvd. Their donuts are fresher and service a little more personable.

  • Lydia T.

My boyfriend ordered one of their huge donuts for me for my 21st birthday. We were all pleasantly surprised with how delicious the donut actually was considering the fact that it was HUGE and probably took a lot of time to finish frying. It was probably had an 18" diameter. It was so moist. I wish the glaze coating wasn't cracked because it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing but it was tasty.

  • Brittany F.

Pretty run of the mill donut shop. They offer a bunch of different kinds, and even though I came pretty late, my donut still tasted fresh. My favorite are the pink glazed with the sprinkles. :)

  • Suzanne C.

Bought a birthday doughnut cake for my brother's birthday. Service was superb! They called me twice to verify my order. Can't wait to go back and try their other doughnuts. Pickup was simple and easy!

  • Samantha T.

one of the best donut shops around. people travel all over to get terrific donuts and we have two great locations here in Elk Grove. Java Time donuts is awesome. has all the popular donuts like Bacon Maple donuts, giant birthday donuts, assortment of donut holes, cream puffs, and still have all the best glaze donuts. The friendly service is great to start the early morning before work. Must stop by if you haven't been there.

  • Sarita M.

They have some crazy looking pastries and donuts there. I'm a big fan of their raised chocolate long-johns. I've also had their raised cinnamon twists which were good too. Normally my husband picks these up for me. When I went in myself one of the younger employees helped me and she was super friendly. The prices for donuts are okay- but the prices for specialty donuts and pastries is high and can add up quickly.

  • Rachel M.

Solid donut shop. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and surprisingly, there was still a good selection. I picked two - one glazed ring with Reese's Puffs cereal on top, and another glazed ring with Fruity Pebbles cereal on top. My boyfriend chose some donut holes with chocolate whipped cream and sprinkles, and also a chocolate glazed old fashioned. The lady helping us was really nice. She even threw in some free donut holes in a couple of our bags. The selection of donuts here is awesome and they're pretty innovative with their flavors. I'll definitely be back again. They also have HUGE donuts here for large groups, holidays, and parties. Don't know who would need that much donut but hey, whatever floats your boat!

  • Nikki M.

Ordered a giant doughnut. It was delicious and very fresh. My family actually eat doughnuts at least once a week and these were some of the best tasting doughnuts we've had. The staff was friendly and pick up was easy.

  • Morgan A.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this Donut Shop! They have the best donuts around. for the last couple of years I've been ordering their 22' donut for my boyfriend's birthday (in replacement of cake). It's ALWAYS fresh and very "light". About a week ago I decided to introduce this 22' donut to my brother for his birthday, and once again it was phenomenal! I recommend this place to anyone that loves "odd" donuts, like.. maple w/ bacon bits or red velvet w/ chocolate frosting. 5 stars!

  • G S.

The best donuts in town !! The world of big cake donut!!! You have to try the infamous cream puff!!! To die for !!! Soo yummie Old fashion my favorite but it has to be chocolate cause chocolate makes a girl HAPPYYYY!!! Lol Oh also, the blueberry scone yummo! Freshly baked lightly glazed. Hmmm. Making me hungry now 2 locations!!!! One on Laguna blvd. n when I'm going to work I swing by the one on Elk Grove blvd off I-5. So convenient !!! Nice to have a cup of joe to wake me up for work !!!

There is no good reason to come here. The guilt sets in before you even place your order. But if you can justify the carbs, sugar, and calories, just indulge in it and enjoy every single bite/sip. This is my favorite iced caramel macchiatto in town. It's so sweet, but the coffee buzz hits almost immediately. They don't overdo it on the milk, which seems to be the problem with most blended coffee drinks. Fantastic. All of the donuts I've tried are delicious, but if you love cream puffs, you MUST try theirs. There are so light and delicate, and the cream isn't overly sweetened. Selection drops off late morning/early afternoon, so get here early if you can!

  • Mamie K.

The donuts here are AMAZING!! When you walk in you are greeted by the sea of donuts!! The problem you will encounter is trying to decide which donut to get, lol!! The donuts are so fresh, light & fluffy. Have to get there early for the best selection. They have special donuts during the year. My kids luv their classic chocolate glazed bar. I am a little more adventurous and have tried some of their special donuts: avocado donut, pumpkin donut, blueberry donut, chocolate glazed filled with peanut butter (yum - who doesn't like peanut butter), glazed donut with lemon filling. I can say they were all very GOOD!! So many more to try

This is more of a commentary than a review. My family has been to Java Time on several occasions and we have never had any issues...until today. This morning, I went to Java Time Donuts and purchased a couple dozens donuts for my son to take with him to school and a few donuts for my family. The two young ladies that put the donuts in the boxes were courteous and attentive. When the donuts were all boxed up, one of the employees asked if I would be paying by cash or credit. I informed her that I would use my ATM card. I handed her my card. She swiped it on the card scanner on the side of her monitor and then flipped the monitor around so that I could view it. Then she asked me which option I would like to choose. Which option? I didn't understand the question. She pointed to the top of the screen and asked which option I would like to select. The options had to do with the amount of "tip" that I wanted to give to the employees that put the donuts into the boxes. As I recall, there were four or five options. For the "no tip" option, there was a corresponding comment that the employee gave poor service. For the 15% option, there was a comment about good service and so on up to 20% for excellent service. There was no option for "NO TIP BECAUSE ALL YOU DID WAS PUT THE DONUTS IN A BOX." Feeling pressured to not criticize the employees and in a moment of weakness, I caved and picked the 15% option. From now on I will be driving a little farther to another donut shop that does not guilt me into paying a "tip" for stuffing donuts into a box. And, by the way, which tip option would you, the reader, like to choose for this review that I stuffed into this script box? $0 for a poor review; $5 for a good review; $10 for a very good review; or $15 for an excellent review. Ridiculous.

The only problem is that there are too many good choices! My daughter LOVED her chocolate chip filled donut! I found my chocolate bar to be a little greasy.

Stopped in for some donuts for a family gathering last Sunday. Holy cow what a delicious looking display case they had. All the standard donuts plus many you don't see anywhere else. The blueberry, red velvet, and bacon maple bars were some of our favorites. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other varieties. The best donut shop I've ever been too.

    (5)
  • Linda L.

I stopped by this bakery/coffee shop on a whim, and bought a "Blueberry Bar". It tasted very good - slightly fluffy, sweet, and about the right amount of blueberry flavor. The cashier was friendly and patient in explaining the different selections that they had displayed. I hope to stop by here again sometime soon.

  • Jessica W.

I've been here a few times because its the closest donut shop by my house. Its not bad. They do try to get creative with their donuts, especially for holidays. Theyll have heart donuts for valentine. Colored marshmallows on donuts. Bacon maple bar? Never tried. Just once I got a custard donut and it didn't have custard in it! Give this place a chance if your on the way in the morning.

  • Stephanie L.

Really yummy donuts. Like.. really soft and moist and sweet (not overly sweet like Krispy Kreme can be sometimes). Bf and I had the star shaped maple and sprinkles donut, the chocolate sprinkles donuts and powdered donut holes. 10/10 would come again.

  • Mike P.

First off I love how friendly everyone that works here is. Donuts are excellent and they are constantly putting fresh ones out unlink other shops around town. Living in the area is also a great convenience for quality pastries helping a suburb area avoid grocery store generic selections. Again if you live in the Elk Grove, CA area you must try this place.

  • Julia D.

I always leave with something awesome. Unless, of course, I attend too late in the day! But that's the case with all donut shops. I snooze, I looze. My favorite has been the chocolate bar with the strawberry whipped cream down the center. So GOOD. Whenever I get the craving, this is my main spot.

  • Stacy W.

Beautiful, tasty donuts w/ excellent service! Came in for a sweet treat and was very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended! The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and even filled a donut w/ custard for me since they had sold out of that kind already.

    (5)
  • Chrissa P.

Their cream puff with custard filling is heaven and every bite is just so delicious! When I go, I like to ask for a chocolate bacon donut and they would make it for me. It's so good! I love the service here. They are extremely nice and welcoming!

  • Sunny L.

Best service one can receive ! The donuts, muffins, and drinks are fresh out the kitchen. Grand openining was awesome. Great place to study and/or lounge. Awesome staff, food, and drinks. Definitely recommended! Pros: fresh, tasty, price Cons: small Stars: 4.5

  • Jesse K.

The best donut shop in ElK Grove. They open very early, about 5am ish and everything is super fresh if you're an early bird. Everything I have tried is delicious, from apple fritters, maple bacon bars, cake donuts. The prices are reasonable and comparable to most donut shops. Staff is friendly and to the point, they don't waste time and get their customers served. The coffee/espresso drinks are decent and just as good as anywhere else. Slightly cheaper than Starbucks.

Soo I have been talking about goin to this place to get some donuts for awhile.. I ordered a couple of maple donuts and I ordered a blueberry donut.. At first I'm thinkin ehh its just a donut what could be so great about them.. When I took my first bite I thought damn these donuts are hella soft!! The glazing on them weren't too overpowering for the donut, it was just right! This place probably has the best donuts I've had.. Not as good as Krispy Kreme but pretty damn close! Wanted to order the maple bacon bar but they were sold out! We also had coffee which was pretty good too.. Service was friendly.. Definitely will be making our way back here for some delicious donuts!

    (5)
  • Cliff L.

Home of the Best Cream Puffs!!! First time I had theses, they were like Krispy Kream donuts where it's required to eat at least 3-5 at one time. Haha. The cream puffs are a hot sellers so if you don't get there by 11am, good luck finding some. Best thing to do is call in the day before to reserve if you plan on ordering at least a dozen. The cream puffs they offer are Cream, custard and raspberry filling. I personally like the cream and custard. The place opens early which is good so if you plan on bringing some breakfast snacks to work, this is the place to stop by.

  • Dillon T.

It is a nice clean environment with super friendly services. They have the most craziest kinds of donuts you cant even imagine of like a maple Bacon bar! Kind of like breakfast pancakes, Bacon, and maple syrup! Everything with Bacon tastes good right? Donut holes and cream puffs are awesome. My favorites is the blueberry scones, oreo donut, and smores donut! Oh yeah they have the worlds GIANTest donut !!! Gotta see it to believe it. Also if you want your favorite donuts, you gotta come in early cause they all go quick! And sometimes, they have to close early because they sold out! There's great expressos and coffee as well. They can pretty much make any kind of drink you want like Starbucks. There are fresh brewed coffee on to the side where you can just help yourself and 50 cent refills for dining in. Price is decent compared to other donut shops around town. It's 7.99 for a regular dozen which is the bottom two rows all the way across. 8.99 for a mixed dozen which is the bottown 3 rows all the way across. Then if you want to add the fancy donuts on top, then its extra 50 cents per donut. Also, when ordering your donut, its kind of hard for the employee to hear you so its good to speak up when telling them what you want. Also, I don't think they can see your hands if you're pointing at the donuts as well. It's better to just describe the donut the best you can or better yet, know the name of the type of donuts. This will help help diffuse any confusion and problems when getting your donuts. There's such a large variety of donuts that you are bound to have trouble choosing from. I say just try one donut at a time, everything in moderation right? (: But that is the reason why there are only certain amount of specific types of donuts because they can't just make everything in large amounts. If you really want a certain type of donut or their gigantic donut; it is best to call in or come in and order what you want, especially if you want a certain type of donut in large amounts. They usually have the TV playing for those dining in and help with passing by time. Also, there is free wifi, so you can come by with your laptop, ipad, or whatever to just hang out or do homework too.

I must say, I am a big fan of yummy fresh donuts and I found just that and more!! I've lived in this area for multiple years and been eyeing this place. Finally my boys and I tried it and it was not a disappointment!! Fresh, moist and delicious!! Oh and did I mention, great pricing! Definitely worth a try!!

    (5)
  • Jeff N.

Soft donuts that are reasonably priced and coffee that doesn't taste horrible! I had the maple donut but definitely need to come back when there's the bacon bar available.

  • Ricky N.

I'M VERY ANGRY WITH THIS PLACE... for having such addicting sweets!!! Everything that I have tried here has been such a guilty pleasure. I'm about to bill them my dentist bill for all the cavities they've caused!!! (or will cause) Came here for their grand opening and they were having buy one half dozen, get the 2nd half dozen FREE. It was a great deal and I'm glad we stopped by. Their donuts are so tasty!!! Very soft pastry on the inside and the glaze isn't too sweet and not too light, just perfect! They melt in your mouth, and before you know it... you're already on your third doughnut. I hope your diet won't be mad at you after this! But it's all so worth it. Came in here again for Valentine's Day weekend and most of their donuts were made in the shape of HEARTS! How the heck can anyone say no. Their donut holes are only $1.25/dozen!!! AGAIN, how can you say no?!? So my sister and I got three dozen... There's nothing de-masculating about the tears coming down from my eyes for these sweet, delectable heart-shaped donut holes. I swear I inhaled about 27 of them straight to my stomach... I looked into the bag and was like... "AHHH where'd they all go??" Best donuts in town, area, city, EVER!!!

I saw a reviewer give a poor review for this place because Voo Doo Donuts in Portland, OR has their standards so high and I had to chime in. Please. I just visited the over-hyped Voo Doo Donuts in Portland and it doesn't even come close to Java Time. True, their bacon is better because it's thick and because Oregonians know their bacon, but had you tried other donuts other than the maple bacon and focused on the donut itself rather than the bacon, you would have realized that donut to donut, this place is the best. Voo Doo is all about overloading their donuts with gimmicky toppings to the point that it's just a joke. If I wanted to eat toppings instead of donuts, I'd just eat a bowl of oreos and cereal. This place has the lightest, airiest, tastiest donuts that are just the right amount of sweetness. You need to go back and recognize. Trust me. I'm a donut aficionado. On another note, I have a question for Java Time: Why don't you make more donuts so that you don't run out so early in the day all the time? My fiance went in this morning to to buy me donuts for Valentine's day and you were already sold out by 8 AM! Don't you LIKE making more money? Especially on a busy day like Valentine's day, you should really plan for it and make more donuts. Just an idea. Now my Valentine's day is off to a bad start.

Located on Elk Grove Blvd. and Harbour Point. On one end of a strip mall. Super nice people. And, it's nice to go to a donut shop that doesn't look totally worn. It's new with ample seating. I think what I like most is that it's not just your plain donuts here.. They get innovative and have more than the garden variety donut and donut holes. They make it with bacon on top, with m&m's, s'mores, oreos.. taking their perfectly fresh, fluffy donut to another level. I wish the bacon were smaller bacon bits (chunks). I wish the marshmallows were cream rather than actual marshmallows. But! I totally respect that they even put these creations out and I like to stop by and see what else I can try. 4 stars.

BEST donuts i ever had! A donut shop near where i live, how awesome is that! They have a variety of donuts which are very tasty and doesnt have that heavy feeling after. I love their donut holes withe powder and oh, not to mention the blueberry donuts (Tasty!) They also have donut challenges here. This place is great for homework also because they have free WI-Fi. I would come here everyday but we all know donuts are fattening. This is the only place i go to for donuts. This place is a must! service: 5 (everyone is so nice!) Food: 5 (tasty!)

  • Tila T.

I agree that the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The donuts looked delicious and very creative. I bought a total of 1 dozen donuts and 12 donut holes for about $14. To me this place is alright. Maybe because they weren't fresh? I came here around 11am, so maybe I'll shoot for an earlier hour next time. My family didn't have much to say about them, and the box was still over half full before I left the house for work :( I really liked the maple bacons tho. Toast 'Em in the oven for a couple minutes first!

  • Lindsay G.

Considering how highly rated this place is, perhaps I just had an unusually poor experience. The man behind the counter wasn't very friendly. The donut selection was lacking, and none looked fresh. I ended up with a buttermilk glazed donut, which was stale. I ate two bites and threw it away. I'll probably try another donut place in the area before I return here.

Y-U-M! I live wayyyyy too close to this place - LOL. Too tempting to have daily so I limit myself to my fav maple bar every now and again. Often disappointed though that they run out of my maple bar by the time I get there! Make MORE!!!! Their raspberrry jelly donuts are delicious too!!! Always yummy fresh. I heart Java Time. Also always veryyyyy welcoming and friendly. Thanks!

  • Ashley N.

I don't know why I even bother to go here. 8am, 10am, weekend, weekday, whenever the case is almost always barely stocked. Really?! The service is subpar. Sure they talk to you but they aren't friendly about it. This last time, my apple fritter ($1.50) was burned and oil lodged. Gross. The girl also put freshly frosted donuts carelessly into a bag so all the frosting is, you guessed it, on the bag. So much for getting a nice surprise for my kids.

  • Kristin W.

The crafty minded bakers of Java Time have gone and done it again. If you are wanting a scone...but not the traditional scone we are all used to seeing (flaky triangular shaped biscuit thing)...these guys have come up with a cheesecake like scone!!! We had the pleasure of trying one of these out and oh my goodness. You must try the blueberry (with real blueberries) and the cream cheese (or cheesecake) scones. They are so moist and delicious.....no disappointment here folks just pure cakey goodness. Give it a try!!!

I have to say, this is the lamest donut shop ever. Walked over there a few weeks ago and they were closed. Today called over to make sure they were open, and they said they were sold out of donuts! WTF? How on earth does a donut shop sell out of donuts? Do they not make them? If not how can they call themselves a donut shop? they are a coffee shop that sells donuts. Yes, I am ranting. I just think a donut shop should make their own products and be open at all hours. Let me point out that I wasn't even trying to go there at midnight, it was like 2:00 in the afternoon for god's sake. And to be out of donuts on a Sunday morning before noon, how stupid. I am not saying their donuts aren't good, they may be, (I have never been fortunate enough to get there when they have them) they just have morons as owners!

Best in Elk Groves award. Big red 'People Love Us on Yelp' sticker let me know this place was probably good. I checked in on 'Yelp' and instantly got a free donut coupon, which I immediately redeemed. 32' Flat Screen Free WiFi Coffee carafes were on a round 'lazy susan'. Clean, well lit donut shop. Clean, sharp posted menus. Powdered non dairy creamer!!! Friendly young people working there.

Good donuts if you get here super early. If you don't make enough donuts to have any after 9 am on a Saturday, your not a donut store!!!

This is like a standard donut shop but they have one the best, tasty and fresh donuts ever! I really like their donut holes! Service is ok.. could be friendlier.

I used to stop in here at least once a week at 530AM back when I was commuting to work for coffee! They have a large variety of classic and not so classic donuts and a few coffee choices for customers to choose from. I am a megafan of the french vanilla/hazelnut roasts and thank Java Time immensely from saving me from falling asleep on I-5. The guy (sorry, I totally forget your name) working the counter every morning is such a sweetheart and I'm always amazed at how nice he is every morning because god knows what a grumpy lady I am at 5 AM in the morn.

This cool donut shop just opened up in my neighborhood a few months ago and I decided to take my 2 year old son here for his 1st "donut shop experience." He picked the donut with M&Ms on it and LOVED it! We've been back here 3 times already because my son keeps asking for the M&Ms donut. They also have different kinds of donuts with fun toppings like oreo cookies, animal cookies, fruity pebbles, and even a maple donut with bacon on top. This family shop is super friendly and a really great place to bring your kids. Come check it out!

  • Tobee G.

I'm so happy Java Time opened a location here. This is what our community needs, a small business to boost our local vibe and super duper bomb donuts and coffee for our daily grind. Our whole family loves this place. Always greeted with a smile, friendly and family oriented service! Always make customers welcomed! First name basis and all! I feel like Norm in episodes of cheers! Everyone knows your name. bring yo kids, bring yo grandmamma, grandpappa, mistress, wife, everybody! Head over to Java Time and make your day shine! I wonder if they will have a donut challenge. I would sooo! Get my photo on the wall!

  • Matthew V.

Holy heavenly donuts Batman! NOM NOM NOM NOM!!!! Java Time Donuts the place to go in Elk Grove for donuts! They have tons of deliciously doughy goodness to choose from including all of the regulars and many not-so-regulars like the maple-bacon bar! YUM!! If you stop by try out their donut holes, they are great and if you like coffee try that out as well! You won't be disappointed! The two gentlemen that work in there are great and their prices are very reasonable. If you have to get on I5 north in the morning you might as well stop and get coffee and a donut because you know that the wait at the metering light is super loooooong!

  • Alma M.

Who can say NO to a donut. It's great that they set up shop right on Elk Grove Blvd. It's a great location to stop by before going to work or on Saturdays. They have good tasting donuts but also scones. The scones are my favorite because it's a scone but it has the slight donut taste/texture. If that make sense.

I love Java time donuts..now they have 2 locations in elk grove... My fave: custard filled puff, cream cheeze scone, and maple bar... They also have a giant donut there...I challenged my friend to eat it in a minute for $20..it was hilarious..need less to say he failed the mission...it was funny to watch.. Best donuts in town..

We are so glad we found Java Time donuts on Elk Grove Blvd. The customer service is outstanding with very friendly and personable staff who enjoy what they do which comes access in their service to the customer. The donuts are light, fluffy and fresh, they are not heavy like most donut shops. Their selection and creativity is amazing, from cookie covered donuts, gigantic circle donuts, blueberry apple fritters, and my favorite the Heart Attack which is a Carmel bar with bacon on top, YUM! They also make great coffee such as lattes, tuxedo mochas and all your other favorites. They also use social media to reach out to their customers with deals, customers of the day, and other means which shows they are really all about making it an experience for us, the customer. If you haven't been yet I highly recommend that you do, you won't be disappointed.

Good coffee and doughnuts. What more can you ask for. They have great cream puffs for.35 cents each. Give them a try. I will be back. Update: I haven't been back here in a while. Darn being pre-diabetic. But it won't stop me. I love this place, and so does my son. I just wish they would bring back the Green Tea doughnuts. They were awesome. I will be there this weekend.

So I just came in today with the intention of trying a maple bacon donut and I must say I was pleasantly surprised :) it was a lot better than I expected. It was like breakfast in my mouth. The shop was nice and chilly as well and they had a huge selection of donuts. I'm not in elk grove often, but I'd stop by this place any time :) Some of the donuts were a bit disappointing, but it's not too bad.

Happy to finally have a donut shop in my neighborhood! Went in, people were friendly and the donuts were delicious. The blueberry muffin I purchased was a little tough and chewy, so I can't say I'd recommend the muffins. However, the 3 other doughnuts I bought were delicious. I'll be walking over again soon! FREE-WIFI is here too! I'll be here for morning wake up and reading!

Thank goodness this place is around the corner from my house! Java Time helps me get up on tough mornings with their delicious donuts! I'll keep this one short and sweet. Service is amazing. There are two men in particular that always greet me when I see them. Perhaps they are the only two that work up front? Well, they both are friendly and are quick to offer any assistance when you get stuck trying to pick your favorites (and trust me, you will!) As for the donuts, they are all great, not to mention original. They offer donuts with marshmallows or m&ms or even cookies! Also, they're huge! My absolute favorites are: blueberry twist/ blueberry cake donut original donut holes chocolate cake donut with chocolate icing and sprinkles (: yum yum yum! Just saying, you aren't living until you try these little pieces of heaven! :D

Donut holes, a glazed twist, one jelly filled, one custard filled, a small mocha, and an espresso later... Yum!... Now, I can write my review. I had great service here. I was greeted with a smile, I always love that. They serve Java City Coffee, Open: Daily 5am-2pm, and they have a nice variety of donuts and coffees. They also have these huge donuts that you could practically put candles in, for a birthday donut... (I would totally do that, who needs a cake? LOL) (Large donuts shown in one of the pictures taken by @Sunny L.) It is so nice to have a donut shop in the neighborhood. Welcome Java Time!!! This is their 2nd location in Elk Grove. (The other location is near Target on Laguna Blvd.) I wish I had known about the "mention Yelp/Facebook discount" ...Oh well, it gives me another reason to go back again real soon. ** Get yourself a donut and a coffee... you can't go wrong. (unless of course, you have an allergy LOL!) FYI: The location on the Yelp (Google) map is off. They are in the shopping center on the east side of Harbour Point/ West Taron Dr. **Update: discount was only for their Grand Opening

Java Time has a good selection of standard donuts and also special creations. I tried the maple bacon bar and it was delish. The powered sugar cream puffs are also great.

This place seriously has the best donuts. I have tried a bunch of different types of donuts here (including the bacon one) and I loved them all. I think my favorite is the donut stuff with strawberry whip cream and fresh strawberries.

Great doughnut shop to grab a dozen, or more, on my way to work. The selection is pretty standard though.

You just can't win coming to this place. If you come too early, they aren't open. Come too late and they're out of donuts. They say they open at 5 and I come at 530 and it's not open(lights weren't even on for setup. It was completely dark). I usually go to this donut shop since it's closer to my house but I definitely need to visit another place.

I'm from the bay area & a self-proclaimed foodie (lover of all things from fancy shmancy to hole in the wall but more so in love with the search for the unique food experience). JTD was my needle in the hay stack in the sea of commercial establishments in Elk Grove. QUEST FOR A TWIST ON DONUTS: Searched yelp. Mapped it out. Found it. My family of 4 left JTD with literally 4 boxes of goodness. While everything I tasted was fantastic in taste, presentation, and overall experience. Here are my faves. **MAPLE BACON BAR: First of all - its a BAR. A bar!! Bars make me feel like I'm getting way more donut. Then JTD, you gently slap a full piece of thick, cooked crisp bacon in 1/4" pieces along the bar. I think they serve these in heaven. **S'MORE: Give me S' MORE!! A fluffy, moist, and big donut with a semi-sweet milk chocolate glaze. Topped with crispy grahm cracker pieces & pillowy marshmellows. Hello!!! **BLUEBERRY TWIST: I was only able to have 2 bites because my immediate family plus visiting family literally snatched it from my hand and ate it with their coffee. Wooooow. This was a family favorite! **GIANT DONUT WITH SPRINKLES: This thing had to have an 8" diameter. Had to! Did we buy 1 - nay we bought 2. What family needs 2 gigantic donuts? We actually brought it back to the bay to give to a very dear friend. When she saw it --- she (attempted) to devour! **POWDERED SUGAR DONUT PUFFS W/ CUSTARD FILLING: Umm... yeah. Enough said!!!! Newbies to JTD: My suggestion is -- get an assortment. Cut them up and try it out. You'll be certain to go back to get your favorite(s) and have a whole one (or two) all to yourself. REGULAR DONUTS: Yes yes. They do exist and are showcased as well. There is something for everyone. YELPERS: 1st check in gets a free donut. Es verdad. Its true. Got my strawberry shortcake donut as the free one! MMMmmm! Deliciousness. COFFEE DRINKERS: Great assortment of coffees in house. From bold, decaf, hazlenut, etc. SERVICE: We went in and met Mike, who was THE NICEST, COOLEST foodie/yelp-lovin' guy ever! My mom and dad (who are actually the ones who live in Elk Grove) love him & and are definitely going to be regulars! :) DON'T SLEEP ON JTD!!!! The quest for a unique donut enjoying experience ends here.

Clean. Friendly staff. Great selection of regular and unique donuts. What I ordered: -Donut holes (glazed w/sesame seeds powdered. Crumble topped, glazed with sprinkles, plain glazed, cinnamon/sugar) Powdered cream/custard/raspberry filled puffs.. All of these were good and I would come back for just them -Blueberry twist... This was just ok. Tastes like blueberry flavors, not real blueberries. -Apple fritter... This was very good. -Glazed w/ crumbs ... I liked this one. Good toppings but not way over done like other places. -Maple bacon bar.. I was excited to try this and was very pleased with the taste. The bacon was crisp and matched perfect with the maple frosting. -Strawberry glazed M&M .. This was for my 9 year old son. He ate it fast said he liked it but wouldn't get it again if we went back. I was surprised. -Blueberry scone.. Unlike the blueberry twist. This did have real blueberries in it and made it amazing. In all we really like this place and will go back often. There's still plenty of interesting donuts we havent tried that I haven't seen made elseware. FYI.. +++ yelp check in offer! Free regular donut with a drink purchase

Variety of donut holes not just plain glazed or powdered. First visit here we were over whelmed by the vast selection. Maple bacon, apple jack topped glazed and blueberry twist. This place is dangerous!!

This place is pretty cool, Upon walking in the first time, the guy in the back greets us with a warm welcome and tells us about all the donuts. He also tells us we can special order shapes such as square or heart shaped donuts and even make donut CAKES ($17.99)!! This place has the donuts that are glazed to melt into your mouth, so this place is recommended if you're on I-5 in the Elk Grove area!

I purchased 17 dozen donuts for a work event today. I had pre-ordered them to pick up at 7am. When I got there, the 2 men had them all ready to go for me and they were still warm!! Perfect timing :) They brought them to my car for me too. To top it off, the assortment was amazing, more than I expected, and tasted equally amazing! They greeted me by name and made me feel like a valued customer. I will definitely be a regular customer here!

OK, so everybody that I know and love, loves this place but I just didn't think it was that amazing. I finally tried it after all the rave reviews and I guess maybe it was just built up a little to much. There were some pretty cool donut flavors there but I was having a fat day and decided to get a muffin and a latte. The muffin was decent but not amazing and the latte was horrible. I guess coffee is not their forte! The guy working there was nice enough and he did apologize that they didn't have the selection that day that they normally do. So maybe I just need to give them another chance but for now I just kind of rate this place as average.
